Two Cities, One Heart, $55,000 in Relief

When you lead with your heart, distance becomes irrelevant. That was the case when Blaise Morrison, manager for Halifax Shopping Centre, witnessed the devastation unfolding in Fort McMurray this past summer. Blaise was aware that many Nova Scotians shared his feeling of connection to the city despite its location some 5500kms northwest.

With that in mind, Blaise created the Two Cities, One Heart fundraising initiative and set about rallying like-minded partners in the region to step up and help. The impressive result was a much-needed $50,000 cheque for the Red Cross in support of the Fort McMurray relief efforts.
